Come join OpenInvest at our upcoming event: Finance Meets Activism! Learn about acting with your finances as a tool for change at Coinbase on August 8th in the SF Bay Area. We’re excited to be joined by our friends CNote, As You Sow, Neighborly and TechEquity Collaborative for a panel and networking session. Tickets can be purchased here!
About The Event:
It’s never been more important to stand up for what we believe. But how can we work to create the communities and future that we want to see? Every day, we make choices – with our ballot, social media, consumer purchases and more. And traditionally, we’ve been able to use those choices to hold businesses accountable for their actions and challenge existing paradigms. And now, with the advent of modern technologies, our personal finances may be one of the most powerful drivers of social change yet. If you want to learn how to easily support the causes you care about – in a way that extends beyond postcard writing or calling your representatives – come join us for a panel where we discuss how to invest in progress, with your finances. You’ll get to network with companies and thought-leaders on the front-lines of technology and social change while enjoying some light bites and drinks. Across lending, banking, and investing, attendees will learn from founders about personal finance innovations that are universally accessible and uncompromising in their impact. We’ll delve into socially responsible investing and other breakthroughs in personal finance that can be unlocked to truly instigate action. The session is also about experiencing this future: through an interactive exercise, networking, learning, and discussion, we’ll come to understand the biggest sources of impact and power in our lives, and walk away with new tools to shape the world.
